When Digital Gets Too Personal


Digital signage has grown by leaps and bounds over the last several years and marketers are still trying to determine all the best ways to handle their digital content.  Have you ever been talking to a friend only to find that Facebook was advertising that exact product to you by the end of the night? Were you creeped out by it - we bet you were! Technology has advanced to the point that devices have the ability to hear you, recognize your words and target you for an uber targeted campaign. But this may be TOO FAR!

Studies are showing that when a customer walks in your store and sees an advertisement directly targeting them for a specific product they were looking for - that it's become too targeted. People begin to distrust the company and the brand for being too specific. It's better to have a targeted campaign to a specific audience rather than to a specific person.

Don't forget it's important to target your intended demographic...just don't get too carried away!
